New management excited about people that have come on board for 2012
DONNELLSON, Iowa (Feb. 14, 2012) – With new management in any business comes change in many positions, that is no different for Lee County Speedway, which has been working throughout the offseason to put together a very strong team for 2012.
The final piece to the big four of the puzzle came together this week, as Promoter Dewain Hulett landed an announcer for the upcoming season.
Ryan Clark has agreed to come on board for the 2012 season as the track’s weekly announcer. Clark is a respected member of the racing scene in Iowa, and also works at Independence Motor Speedway. He has announced for the Corn Belt Clash Late Model series and was a co-master of ceremonies for the IMCA National Banquet.
‘Together WE Fight Hunger’ 25 for 35 in honor Brian Hetrick offers $1,000 to win payday
DONNELLSON, Iowa (Feb. 13, 2012) – Lee County Speedway kicks off a big weekend for 305 sprint cars in Southeast Iowa, Friday, April 20, when it hosts the $1,000 to win “Together WE Fight Hunger” 25 for 35 in Honor of Brian Hetrick.
The event kicks off a two night swing of $1,000 to win races, as 34 Raceway will also host a $1,000 to win 305 race Saturday, April 21. That event will also carry the brand of “Together WE Fight Hunger” 25 for 34.
In a cooperative effort the tracks will be collecting canned goods and financial donations during the events to purchase food which will be donated to area food banks in Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois. Talks are in the works with a major cooperate sponsor to do a matching financial contribution as well. More information will be made available about the food drive in coming weeks.
