Form available to register for Together WE Fight Hunger 25 for 35 in honor of Brian Hetrick

DONNELLSON, Iowa (March 28, 2012) – Below drivers who would like to preregister for the Together WE Fight Hunger 25 for 35 in honor of Brian Hetrck can do so by filling out the pdf form and returning it to Lee County Speedway.

Early registration is open for the Sprint Cars, and is $25, which will include the driver’s pit pass. By registering early, the driver is entered into a drawing for products from Midland Performance, Hoosier Tire Midwest, Jockos Sprint Parts, Kustum Sprint Car Supplies and Boubin Tire & Wheel.

Forms must be received in the Lee County Speedway office by April 19th to be eligible for contingency awards.

PostHeaderIcon Lee County Speedway adds October event

DONNELLSON, Iowa (March 26, 2012) – Lee County Speedway, Donnellson, Iowa, would like to announce a two-day race event will be added to the 2012 schedule. This two-day event will be held during the third weekend of October.

With the announcement made today that the events set for that weekend in Memphis, Mo., have been cancelled, the owners and promoter of the Lee County Speedway thought it would be a great time to announce the added dates to the 2012 Lee County Speedway schedule.

This event will not be IMCA sanctioned and will have more of an open rules package. More will be released in coming weeks. Keep an eye on the LCS website at for more on this event and the rest of the 2012 season at the Lee County Speedway.

Event to help supply food for area food pantries thanks to new sponsor

DONNELLSON, Iowa (Mar. 21, 2012) – Hy-Vee stores in Keokuk and Ft. Madison have not only come on board as a night sponsor for the Together We Fight Hunger 25 for 35 in honor of Brian Hetrick 305 Sprint Car event at Lee County Speedway, April 20, but they have taken their obligation a step further.

Throughout the night, fans at Lee County Speedway will be able to make donations to purchase non-perishable food items for local food pantries. Hy-Vee has agreed to make every $25 donated, $35. That’s right for every $25 worth of food LCS is able to buy with donated funds, Hy-Vee will add $10 worth of non-perishable food items, making it truly 25 for 35.

“We are very excited to have Hy-Vee, in Ft. Madison and Keokuk, come onboard for what we expect to be an outstanding event,” LCS promoter Dewain Hulett said. “I think this shows how truly locally minded these stores are.

“It will be a great way to get a new sponsor involved with the track as well, and there may be one more special little treat involved with Hy-Vee, but that is still in the works,” he added.

Hy-Vee will have a presence at the track during its first sponsorship night at Lee County Speedway. Also, the car show will be held at Hy-Vee, in Keokuk, for the first time.

$1,000 to win, $200 start event helps fight hunger, honors fall driver

DONNELLSON, Iowa (Mar. 21, 2012) – Midwest Performance and Hy-Vee host the Together WE Fight Hunger 25 for 35 in honor of Brian Hetrick, April 20, 2012 at Lee County Speedway.

The first Sprint Car event of the 2012 season takes to the 3/8th mile Lee County Speedway, with $1,000 to win and $200 to start for 305 Sprints. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m., pit passes will be $25 and grandstand admission is $10.

Also on the card for the night are IMCA Hobby Stocks, Mod Lites and IMCA Sport Compacts. Both IMCA classes will be running for Regional and National points. Track points will not start until April 27.

PostHeaderIcon LCS car show set for Hy-Vee, Keokuk

 Date solidified for April 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at new location

KEOKUK, Iowa (Mar. 21, 2012) For the first time the Lee County Speedway car show will be held at Hy-Vee, in Keokuk. Hy-Vee, a new sponsor for 2012 at LCS, has agreed to host the car show in their parking lot, Sunday, April 1.

“We are very excited about the location and the invitation we received from Hy-Vee,” LCS promoter Dewain Hulett said. “This allows us to get the cars in front of a lot of people who may not otherwise stop and look, or even notice a racecar car show.

“It is not only good for LCS and Hy-Vee, but I also believe it is great for the sponsors who will be on each and every car shown that day,” he added.

PostHeaderIcon VIP Booths available for 2012 season at LCS

DONNELLSON, Iowa – For anyone interstested in a VIP Booth at Lee County Speedway, it is your lucky year!
Two booths remain avaialbe for the 2012 season! The price is $1,000 for the lower level booth, while $1,250 is the price of the upper level booth.

With the purchase of a booth comes 25 tickets to be used throughout the season.

Note, the tickets are not good for the Fair Race, but the booth is yours to be used for the race.

PostHeaderIcon Employee meeting March 11

DONNELLSON, Iowa (Mar. 2, 2012) – An employee meeting for all employees at Lee County Speedway will be held at Arrowhead Bowl, in Keokuk, Mar. 11, 2012 at 1 p.m.

If you were an employee during last year’s racing season and have not been notified about the upcoming season, please make plans to join us for the meeting.

Food will be provided.

This meeting is for both on and off track employees. The new ownership and management look forward to meeting all the employees. It is also that time of year to get the ball rolling for what we plan on being a great 2012 season.
