A driver may run an IMCA LEGAL Sport Mod OR a B-Modified under the following the rules below The rules for this class will be the same as the IMCA-Modified division with the following exceptions. 1. All cars must weigh a minimum of 2650 pounds after the race with the driver. 2. All cars must run on gas not alcohol or additives. 3. No coil-over shocks or coil-over kits anywhere on car. 4. No roller cams or roller lifters allowed. 5. No aluminum heads allowed. 6. Aluminum or Fiberglass roofs are allowed. 7. A spoiler on the rear of the car with a maximum height of 5” measured from the deck to the top of the spoiler is allowed. 8. Same tire rule as IMCA will apply. No grooving, softening, conditioning or siping will be allowed. 9. Both stickered and non-stickered wheels will be allowed. 10. If running an open engine you are allowed any 2 barrel carburetor up to 500 CFM. You may run a Holley 500 CFM 2 barrel, part #4412, with NO MODIFICATIONS. (Casting ring must be untouched, booster size and location may not be altered, and if choke horn is removed, casting may not be lower than top of air cleaner casting ring.) Any carburetor is subject to a $200 claim, (no exchange). Any car finishing the event can claim any carburetor from any driver finishing in the top 3 positions. 11. The use of aftermarket engine blocks will remain optional for 2008. 12. OEM type or aftermarket type transmissions such as Bert, Brinn, or Falcon will remain optional for 2008 as well as bellhousings with reverse mount starters. 13. If running the GM Crate engine, part #88958602, you may run any Holley 4 barrel carburetor. It is recommended that you run the 650CFM carburetor that GM specifies to use with this engine. The GM racing Crate engine can be purchased from any GM dealer and is sealed from the factory. Engine must remain sealed at all times. 14. Engine Claim: Open engines can be claimed for $500.00 or can be exchanged for $275.00, sellers choice. Promoter has the right to claim any engine. Neither the GM Crate engine nor the Holley 4 barrel carburetor are eligible to be claimed. 15. Mufflers are required. Muffler does not have to be the IMCA part number.
This Class will become an IMCA Sanctioned Sport Mod Class in 2009
