PostHeaderIcon “Spring Extravaganza” Set to Open the 2015 Season at the Lee County Speedway

Donnellson, IA (Sunday, March 8, 2015) – The 2015 season at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA is set to begin with the “3rd Annual Spring Extravaganza” on Friday, March 27th and Saturday, March 28th. Midwest Performance & Power in Keokuk, Iowa are helping to present the action in the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Hobby Stocks and IMCA Sport Compacts both nights.

The “3rd Annual Spring Extravaganza” at the Lee County Speedway will be headlined by a $1,000 to win feature for IMCA Modifieds on both Friday and Saturday nights. With both features being qualifiers for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

Also in action on both nights will be the IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA SportMods running for $500 to win each night, while the IMCA Hobby Stocks and IMCA Sport Compacts will be racing for $300 to win each night.

Past champions of the “Spring Extravaganza” include Scott Hogan (2013 Modifieds), Richie Gustin and Jimmy Gustin (2014 Modifieds), Damon Murty (2013 Stock Cars), Todd Reitzler and Abe Huls (2014 Stock Cars), Clint Luellen (2013 SportMods), Brett Lowry swept (2014 SportMods), Andy Coffman (2013 Hobby Stocks), Mike Kincaid swept (2014 Hobby Stocks), Skipp Dunker (2013 Sport Compacts), Brad Chandler and Adam Gates (2014 Sport Compacts). Will one of these drivers put their name in the record books for the “3rd Annual Spring Extravaganza”, or will there be new winners visiting victory lane for the 2015 event?

Entry fees per night are $40 for Modifieds, $25 for Stock Cars and SportMods, $20 for Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts. Each night will be a complete program, with a draw / redraw format used on both nights.

The “3rd Annual Spring Extravaganza” will be following all IMCA rules. With national, regional and state points being awarded on both nights.

Pit passes both nights will be $25, ages (7-13) $15, and ages 6 & under $10. While the grandstands for each night will be adults $12, students (7-17) $6, and kids 6 & under FREE!

Pit gates on Friday will open at 5:00 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:00 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Then on Saturday night the pit gates will open at 4:00 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps will begin at 6:00 p.m. and racing kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

A practice night is set for Thursday, March 26th, with the gates opening at 5 p.m. and the first hot lap session beginning at 7 p.m. Pit passes on this night will be $20.

PostHeaderIcon LEE COUNTY SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES 2015 PROMOTIONS

Donnellson, IA – With the 2014 season banquet being held a couple of weeks ago, the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa looks to begin 2015 with the 3rd Annual Spring Extravaganza on March 27th & 28th. Little will change for the 2015 season, as the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, and IMCA Sport Compacts will return for weekly racing action.

Drivers in attendance at the banquet where enrolled “FREE” into a never seen before pit pass program for our loyal racers. For our perfect attendance drivers in 2015 each driver will pay $1 less each night they race at a weekly show. This will not include specials, but will include every normal weekly show. For example, on opening points night drivers enrolled into the program will pay a $25 pit pass. Then the next weekly show they will pay $24, then $23, then $22, and so on. Drivers who attended the banquet are already enrolled for free. All other drivers not in attendance at the banquet will be able to enroll for $20. That money will be refunded at the 2015 banquet, with perfect attendance.

The Lee County Speedway will also be offering a ” Tow Card” for the 2015 season. How this works is any drivers that come from over 65 miles away will save $15 a night on their pit pass. While drivers that come from over 90 miles away will get in for FREE! The cost of the “Tow Card” will be $40, and will be refunded at the 2015 banquet with perfect attendance. These “Tow Cards” will only be valid for non specials only for your class. So if your class is having a special it will not be valid for that night. Location will be determined by the drivers, the owner, or where the car is being towed from, whichever is closer.

Donnellson, IA (Wednesday, December 10, 2014) – The Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA is set to honor there 2014 Track Champions on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Banquet Hall behind Tina’s Tap in Ft. Madison, IA.

Jeff Waterman (Budweiser IMCA Modifieds), Jason Cook (Donnellson Tire IMCA Stock Cars), Tony Dunker (Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods), Dustin Griffiths (Coor’s Light IMCA Hobby Stocks), and Austen Becerra (Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts) will be honored as the champions for the 2014 season. The top 10 in the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Donnellson Tire IMCA Stock Cars, Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods, Coor’s Light IMCA Hobby Stocks and Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts will all be honored.

The night will kick off with happy hour from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm, followed by a meal at 6:30 pm. Then some live entertainment, and the awards presentation. With the night ending with some dancing.

There are plenty of great awards being lined up, with point fund checks from IMCA being handed out, live entertainment from 7:30 to 8:30, awards show, and a dance to follow. It’s going to be a huge evening with lots of activities in store. All driver, fans, and pit crews should have your RSVP in the mail by Thursday, January 1st to get the discounted price and to be eligible for the driver awards.

Donnellson, IA (Tuesday, April 8, 2014) – The Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA has had mother nature on there side so far for the 2014 season, as in three events scheduled so far all three nights have been able to be put into the record books. This streak looks to continue this Friday, April 11th with the second points night of the early season being presented by Donnellson Tire.

In action on the night will be the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Donnellson Tire IMCA Stock Cars, Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods, Coor’s Light IMCA Hobby Stocks and Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts. We invite you to come out and see who will continue to be the early front runners for the 2014 track championships.

Gates will open at 5:30 pm, with hot laps at 7:00 pm, and racing at 7:30 pm. Grandstand admission will be adults $10, seniors $9, students (11-17) $5, and kids 10 & under FREE! Or you can purchase at Family Plan, 2 adults and 2 students, for only $25! Pit passes are $25, ages (7-13) $15, and ages (6 & under) $10.
