PostHeaderIcon Races for Tonight Friday, June 14th Have Been Canceled

Donnellson, IA (Friday, June 14, 2013) – Tonight’s race at the Lee County Speedway have been rained out.

Coming up next Thursday, June 20th is Budweiser Open Wheel Night, presented by Big Country 103.1 and Outdoor Power, Inc. The Karl Performance Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds will be racing for $1,000 to win and $150 to start, with NASCAR driver Kenny Schrader racing against the areas best IMCA Modifieds!

Also in action on the night will be the Brockway Mechanical & Roofing Sprint Invaders, Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods and Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts, which will be racing for $150 to win thanks to 2 sponsors. Plus just added will be the Donnellson Tire IMCA Stock Cars, which will be racing for $500 to win and $70 to start.

The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods, and Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts will be awarded track points. All classes will be a draw / redraw event!

So make plans to be at the Lee County Speedway next Thursday, June 20th as Budweiser will have alot of respresentatives from local businesses in the pits!

PostHeaderIcon $500 to Win IMCA Stocks This Friday, June 14th

Donnellson, IA (Sunday, June 9, 2013) – Coming up this Friday, June 14th will be the make-up Donnellson Tire IMCA Stock Car Special, which was rained out back on Friday, May 31st. The IMCA Stock Cars will be racing for a top prize of $500 to win and $70 to start in a draw / redraw format. There is no entry fees or track registration fees!

The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds will once again be racing for $500 to win and $100 to start, thanks to an anonymous sponsor. There is no entry fees or track registration required for the IMCA Modifieds.

Also in action on the night will be the Sebastian Sandblasting and Powder Coating 305 Sprints, the Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA Sport Mods, the Coor’s Light IMCA Hobby Stocks, and the Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts.

This weeks racing action will be presented by Outdoor Power Inc. of Quincy, IL and Casey’s General Stores. As it will be Schools Out night at the track, with all students  from 7-17 getting into the grandstands for FREE!

Gates will open at 5:30 pm, hot laps at 7:00 pm, and racing at 7:30 pm. Grandstand admission will be adults $10, seniors $9, students (7-17) FREE, Caseys General Storeand kids 6 & under FREE! Pit passes will be $25, ages 7-13 $15, and kids 6 & under $10.

PostHeaderIcon Huls and Smith Claim There First Wins of the Season at the Lee County Speedway

Donnellson, IA (Friday, June 7, 2013) – The fans turned out for the FREE Grandstand Admission, thanks to Budweiser, Pepsi Memphis Bottling, 101.7 The Bull, Arrowhead Bowl, WCM MetalWorks, Midwest Performance & Power, and Roberts Tire Center, by packing the speedway. Then the drivers did there job by providing the fans with some great racing action, which it what they do each and every Friday night at the Lee County Speedway.

First up on the night was the 14 lap Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compact feature, with Michael Grossman and Austen Becerra drawing the front row for the event. Groosman would take advantage of his front row starting spot, with Becerra and Darin Smith battling for second. Grossman then held onto the top spot until lap 7, when he slowed off turnDarin Smith 4 with troubles to bring out the one and only caution of the event. On the restart Smith grabbed the lead over Chuck Fullenkamp, who started 11th, as Josh Barnes, Brandon Reu, who started 9th, and Skipp Dunker, who started 14th, put on a battle for third. Barnes was able to get past Fullenkamp for the second spot on lap 9 and then went to work on Smith for the lead. But Smith was able to hold him off to claim his first win of the season at the track. Barnes settled for 2nd, Fullenkamp was 3rd, Dunker won the battle for 4th, with Reu coming home in 5th.

PostHeaderIcon FREE Fan Appreciation Night Set For Friday, June 7th

Donnellson, IA (Thursday, May 30, 2013 ) – Next Friday, June 7th is Fan Appreciation Night at the Lee County Speedway. For the first time in the history of the track they are offering FREE admission into the grandstands, after 6:00pm! The grandstands will still open at 5:30pm, with the admission price set at $3 to allow fans to get there favorite seat. But after 6:00pm the admission price is FREE!!! So tell your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to join us next Friday, June 7th for the FREE Fan Appreciation Night.

Donnellson, IA (Monday, May 27, 2013) – This coming Friday, May 31, 2013 is Casey’s General Stores Schools Out Night at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA. All students from ages 7 – 17 will be admitted into the grandstands for FREE!

The highlight of the night will beCaseys General Store the Donnellson Tire IMCA Stock Car special. A top prize of $500 is up for grabs to the winner of the Stock Car feature, with a guarantee of $70 to start. The Stock Cars will be a draw / redraw event, with no entry fee or track registration fee required. Track points, as well as IMCA national, state, and region points will be awarded on the night.

Also in action on the night will be the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods, Coor’s Light IMCA Hobby Stocks and the Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts.

We are still working on a few things for the T.A. Auto & Tire Jr. fan club. So make sure you bring the kids with you to enjoy some great racing action.

PostHeaderIcon Mueller Claims First Career IMCA Modified Feature at the Lee County Speedway

Donnellson, IA (Friday, May 24, 2013) – For the second week in a row mother nature allowed the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA to put on a racing program presented by Hy-Vee of Ft. Madison and Keokuk, IA. Jeff Mueller would claim his first career Budweiser IMCA Modified feature, while Jason Cook (Donnellson Tire IMCA Stock Cars), Jim Gillenwater (Shottenkirk Parts Express IMCA SportMods), Dustin Griffiths (Coor’s Light IMCA Hobby Stocks), and Josh Barnes (Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compacts) each picked up there second wins on the season on the track.

The first feature up on the night was the 12 lap Coor’s Light IMCA Hobby Stocks, with Andrew Hustead and Dustin Griffiths on the front row. Griffiths would take advantage of his front row start to jump out into the lead on lap 1 over Hustead and Dale Porter. Grittiths, Porter, Jason See and Hustead put on a show for the fans the entire 12 laps, with Griffiths holding them off each lap at the stripe. On the white flag lap, Porter drove it hard into turn 3 and was able to drift up in front of Griffiths to grab the lead briefly. As Griffiths used a cross over move to edge out Porter at the line by a nose to claim his second win in a row at the track. Porter was 2nd, See was 3rd, Hustead was 4th, with Ricky Miller Jr. rounding out the top 5.

PostHeaderIcon Lee County Speedway’s Most Popular Driver Contest Information Revealed

Donnellson, IA (Sunday, May 19, 2013) – This coming Friday, May 24th on Hy-Vee Night the fans of the Lee County Speedway’s drivers will have there chance to determine the Most Popular Driver for 2013 at the track.

The contest program will benefit both the fans and the drivers of the Lee County Speedway, as the fans can get a $2 off coupon for the adult grandstand price from there favorite driver. In turn the driver who has the most fans take advantage of the coupons this Friday, May 24th will be honored as the 2013 Most Popular Driver of the Lee County Speedway.

How the contest program works is the driver can print out the form from one of the following ways, the photo or from the PDF file link post below. The driver then puts his car number on the line and circles his class. Then they can hand the coupons out to all of there fans prior to this Friday, May 24th events. We ask that you don’t hand them out in the parking lot the night of the event. Anybody getting caught will be disqualified from the contest. Then the drivers need to encourage there fans to take advantage of the $2 off coupon this Friday, May 24th.

The driver who has the most fans turn in those $2 off coupons this Friday, May 24th at the Lee County Speedway will earn a $100 cash prize, a beautiful trophy, and will be named the 2013 Most Popular Driver at the Lee County Speedway. So drivers and fans please do your best to support this great contest, as it benefits you the fan and your favorite Lee County Speedway driver.

PostHeaderIcon Schneiderman Tops 5th Annual Brian Hetrick Memorial

Donnellson, IA (Friday, May 17, 2013) – After another two week lay off thanks to mother nature, the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA was able to get back to racing on a beautiful night. The night featured the 5th Annual Brian Hetrick Memorial for the Sebastian Sandblasting 305 Sprints, thanks in part by Randall’s Performance and Holtkamp’s Trailer Repair. The regular weekly racing action was sponsored by Darkside Tint & Graphix and Driftwood 13 Bar, who also provided the T.A. Tire & Auto Jr. Fan Club kids with some prizes.

The night would start off with the 12 lap Sunline Auto Parts IMCA Sport Compact feature, with Jacob Tournear and Josh Barnes leading the field to the drop of the green flag. Barnes would take advantage of his front row starting spot to jump out into the lead on lap 1, followed closely by Brandon Lambert and Bradley Stevenson. The first caution of the event would wave on the completion of lap 1, as debris in turns one and two slowed the field down. On the restart Barnes jumped back out front, but now had Michael Grossman, who started 6th, glued to his back bumper. While Barnes worked to hold back Grossman, Brent Hartley, who started 10th, was slowly working his way towards the front. But a caution on lap 5 for debris down the backstretch, would slow the action. Barnes once again grabbed the lead on the restart, with Grossman close behind in second. The battle from third back to seventh was starting to heat up, when Hartley, who was running 4th, slowed down the backstretch on lap 9 to bring out the final caution of the race. On the restart Barnes moved back out front and then held off Grossman over the final 3 laps to claim his first win of the season at the track. Grossman settled for 2nd, Lambert was 3rd, Brandon Reu came from 8th to finish in 4th, with Patrick Skipp Dunker coming from 9th to round out the top 5.
