Mod Lites added this Friday!

DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 24, 2012) – Management at Lee County Speedway announced tonight a late addition to the line-up for racing action this weekend during Mohrfeld Electric Night.

Mod Lites will also be on the card!

Numerous Mod Lite drivers have called to see if we were running the class this weekend, so it was decided that to prevent cars from showing up at the track with no race, the class would be added. Numerous calls have been made tonight, and thanks to several members of the Mod Lite racing community, it has been verified that enough cars will make to the call for the show to be a success.

Mod Lites have not been at Lee County Speedway for several years, and with the class growing very quickly in the area, the staff at Lee County Speedway is exccited to have them at the track this Friday.

“We have wanted to find a spot for the Mod Lites, and this seems to fit in everyone’s schedule,” LCS promoter Dewain Hulett said. “We had them scheduled earlier this year, but the event was rained out. We have them on the schedule Sept. 29, but this will give the fans a little bonus racing for the $10 price this weekend.

“It will also allow for a tune-up for the drivers who plan to run the event in Sept.,” he added.

Racing action will remain on schedule with 7 p.m. hot laps and 7:30 p.m. racing. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for students 11-17. Children 10 and under are free. Pit passes will be $25. Also, anyone who has a purchased grandstand admission ticket from last week’s racing action can bring the ticket and get in for $5!
