Donnellson, IA (Sunday, March 29, 2015) – It’s finally here!!! The 2015 season will kick off today (Sunday, March 29th) at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA, with the “3rd Annual Spring Extravaganza” presented by Midwest Performance & Power out of Keokuk, IA.
The day will start with a practice from 1 pm until 3 pm. Which will be followed by a re-working and re-watering of the track to get it set for racing at 5 pm.
Highlighting the nights events will be the IMCA Modifieds racing for a top prize of $1,000, plus a spot on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational during the 2015 IMCA Supernationals. Also in action will be the IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA SportMods racing for $500 to win, the IMCA Hobby Stocks gunning for $400 to win and the IMCA Sport Compacts racing for $300 to win.
Gates today will open at noon, with the pit passes being $40, ages (7-13) will be $25, and ages 6 & under will be $15 until 3 pm. Then after 3 pm pit passes will go to the normal $25, ages (7-13) $15, and ages 6 & under $10. Grandstands will be FREE from noon until 4 pm, then will be cleared out and Adults will be $12, students (7-16) $6, and kids 6 & under FREE!
The draw on Sunday will close at 4:30 pm, as there will be NO hot laps for the normal show. The goal is to get the fans and drivers back on the road to home early to get ready to go back to work on Monday.
