Donnellson, IA (Monday, October 19, 2015) – An event know as “Shiverfest” that was started back in 1999, will bring the 2015 racing season at the Lee County Speedway to a close this Saturday, October 24th. This event is being brought to you with the help of Midwest Performance & Power, along with associate sponsor Corky’s Racing Products.
Racing action will take place in the Budweiser Modifieds, Donnellson Tire and Service Stock Cars, Shottenkirk of Ft. Madison SportMods, Coors Light Hobby Stocks, and Armstrong Tractors Sport Compacts. The Modifieds will be racing for $500 to win, while the Stock Cars and SportMods are going for a top prize of $400. A $250 top prize is up for grabs in the Hobby Stocks, with $200 to win going to the Sport Compacts.
Even though there is NO entry fees to race during “Shiverfest”, drivers will have a chance to double their first place winnings by paying a entry fee for the gamblers pay. A Modified driver can pay a $25 entry fee for a chance to win $1,000. While a Stock Car and SportMod driver can pay a $20 entry fee for a chance to win $800. A $15 entry fee will allow a Hobby Stock driver to take home $500, with a Sport Compact driver having a chance to win $400.
There will be plenty of things going on Saturday, with it all starting off with hay rack rides thru the pit area starting at 3 pm. That will be followed by trick-or-treating, sponsored by the drivers, at 4 pm, with box car races being held at 4:30 pm. The racing action will get started with hot laps at 5 pm.
Grandstand admission will be adults $10, students (11-17) $5, and kids 10 & under FREE! Pit passes will be $25, ages (7-13) $15, and ages 6 & under $10.
